Cyberpunk 2.0.2.0.
NPC Genertaor
Version 2.1
by Scott Bukoski
This program is designed to create Non-Player Characters for use with
Cyberpunk 2.0.2.0. Cyberpunk is an official trademark of Ral Talsorian
Games.
The following files should be included, if any are missing, please
notify me via e-mail:
NPC.EXE - The main executable program.
NPC.DAT - The data file for the program.
SETZERO.EXE - Program which sets counting of each role to zero.
READ.ME - This file, with instructions and other nice stuff.
This program was written in Turbo Pascal, and is designed to make
Cyberpunk a more enjoyable and playable game. After all, who likes to sit
there for hours making non-player characters. To start the program just
type NPC at the prompt in which the files are located.
After the title screen, you'll get a prompt to enter a role. You MUST
type cop, corporate, media, medtechie, techie, rockerboy, solo, nomad, fixer,
or netrunner. These are your 10 main character choices. In addition to
these, typing quit will exit you from the program. Anything else will have
no effect.
You'll see nothing on your screen as it all goes to your printer, so
make sure you have it turned on. It follows the guidelines of the book
with a few variations.
It's a pretty effective and nice program. Instead of wasting 5-10
minutes creating an NPC, now it just takes you 5-10 seconds. Gives you
more time to play the game, which means more fun.
If, for some reason, you wish to set all the roles back to zero (like
if you're on MEDIA 157, and want to reset it), just type setzero, and all
roles will be reset.
Naturally, I'm looking for any type of advice, comments, or suggestions
that you might like to share with me. Let me know how to make it better,
and I will try. You can reach me at:

Again,I hope you like the program, and send me ideas to make it better.
New features in 2.1 that weren't in 1.0:
- All armor and cyberware are now calculated properly when it comes
to Reflexes and Body.
- Lists the skills much nicer. It now tells you what stat they are
associated with.
- Allows for multiple layers of armor.
- Now makes sure that the weapon the NPC is assigned with is appropriate
with a skill he has. (No more submachine guns when the npc doesn't
even have that skill).
- Better handling of skill selection. The npc's main skills are picked
better than before, with more skill points being assigned to more
important ones (eg. Special Abilities) (Pickup skills are still
picked the same).
- New data file for faster reading.
- SETZERO.EXE to reset the roles to zero.
